KYIV. Jan 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Vacancy of warehouses and other logistics premises in Kyiv city and region fell from 11% to 8% in 2017, Head of the consulting department at NAI Ukraine Maryna Hurevych said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
“Small new supply for the open market and rather high activity of leasers have resulted to the fact that vacancy is narrowing. The price is fixed in hryvnias, and rent rates remain stable,” she said.
Hurevych said that new space in 2017 was mainly commissioned using the build-to-suit scheme. Thus, the number of vacant space was not increased, and supply for the new market was rather restricted.
According to NAI Ukraine, the expected new space for logistic property in 2018 would double the 2017 figure and reach 105,000 square meters.
“The expanded growth of supply is projected for 2018, but commissioning depends on the fact if they were able to find leasers,” Hurevych said.
According to the forecasts of NAI Ukraine, with the retaining of the upward pace in the Ukrainian economy in coming years the trend for reduction of vacant space for logistic property would be seen and rent rates would slightly grow.
